SUCHWERK is a "virtual device drive", it does not contain any file, it just shows your documents in a virtual folder structure. It is a collection of virtual folders or so called "inteligent folders". There is a pre-defined folder structure that is always shown. You are free to add any number of additional "search"-folders.
You simply can search files by moving through the SUCHWERK folder structure. All existing occurrences are shown as a sub-folder. For simple search requests you don't even have to enter anything, just use the mouse.
The standard folder structure shows your files by Size, Date, Format, Directory and Name. Furthermore all meta information of office documents and music files are shown. Just to name a few: Author, Company, Comment, Album, Genré and Artist.
An example makes things easy: You want to find all files created by "Tom Hill" in the year "2005". Just open the folder "Attribute" and than open the folder "Author". A list of authors appears, one folder per author. Open the folder "Tom Hill". If there is no folder "Tom Hil", than no file was created by him. Open the folder "Date" and the folder "Date of creation". In the list of years open the folder "2005". Now you see all files that have been created by Tom Hill in 2005.
But how can I search the content of a document? You just create a new folder and assign the word you are searching for as the folder name. A second later all documents which contain this word are virtually placed in this folder. Just try it!
Continuing the example from above: You found all files from Tom Hill created in 2005. Now you want to restrict this list to all documents containing the word "computer". Create a new folder in Microsoft Explorer (right mouse click-New-Folder) and enter "computer" as the name of the folder. All files containing the word computer are now in this folder.
The search-folder "computer" now appears in all folders. To delete this folder open the directory: "config\search folders" and delete the folder. |
